Indira KALJO
FOUNDER & COACH
Indira Kaljo holds a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in leadership and brings over 15 years of experience in designing and managing youth and young adult programs for ages 6 to 35. She has led a wide range of initiatives, including calligraphy workshops, arts and crafts, coding and robotics classes, and large-scale sports tournaments. Indira has successfully organized major community events such as youth and grand qiyams with over 500 attendees, Iftars for more than 300 guests, and mosque fundraisers hosting up to 1,000 people, often coordinating appearances by renowned imams and Muslim speakers. She also has extensive experience in budgeting and planning for community development projects, including the renovation of youth lounges and the design of indoor multi-purpose spaces.
Athletically, Indira is a former NCAA Division I basketball player at Tulane University and a professional FIBA athlete. She was also a Junior Olympics swimmer, and a varsity volleyball player, softball player, and cross country runner. Her coaching experience includes leading varsity teams in basketball, swimming, volleyball, and cross country. In 2020, she coached the first women’s professional basketball team in Saudi Arabia to the championship game and helped grow ARMED Sports Academy in Jeddah to serve over 500 boys and girls across various sports. She also served as a kinesiology instructor and women’s basketball coach at Gavilan College.
Through years of experience, Indira has discovered her true calling in growing and guiding recreational programs that nurture the full Muslim child—fostering physical activity, character development, and Islamic identity. She is passionate about serving communities by consulting and collaborating with organizations to develop holistic programs that empower the next generation to become well-rounded, confident, and practicing Muslims.
